Turn students into experts with Jigsaw, a cooperative learning strategy that divides a reading or topic among small groups. Students begin in "home groups," move into "expert groups" to study one portion of the material, and then return to teach what they learned to their original group. The Teacher Toolkit provides clear preparation and implementation directions, suggestions for when to use the strategy, an expert-panel variation, and downloadable elementary, secondary, and Spanish templates, including editable Google Doc versions. Jigsaw can help students build comprehension while practicing cooperation, communication, discussion, and problem-solving skills. The site also suggests using the strategy to build background knowledge, study authors, examine different viewpoints, compare concepts, and review before an assessment. If your district blocks YouTube, you may not be able to view the video.

Looking for university-level material to extend an advanced high school course or deepen a teacher's own content knowledge? NPTEL offers an extensive collection of online courses developed and taught by faculty from IITs, IISc, and other participating institutions. Browse courses across approximately 22 disciplines, including engineering, computer science, mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, management, and humanities. Individual course pages may include an overview, instructor information, syllabus, lecture sequence, downloadable materials, and other course resources, with many courses organized into multiple modules or weeks. Video lectures are central to the collection, and NPTEL course pages embed or link to YouTube-hosted videos. If your district blocks YouTube, you may not be able to view the videos. Because much of the content is designed for college and professional learners, teachers should preview individual courses carefully for prerequisite knowledge and select portions appropriate for secondary students.

Chrome Music Lab is a free collection of interactive music experiments created by Google that helps students explore rhythm, melody, harmony, sound waves, and music composition through hands-on play. Using colorful, easy-to-use tools such as Song Maker, Rhythm, Melody Maker, Kandinsky, and Voice Spinner, students can create and share original music directly in a web browser without downloads or logins. The site encourages creativity, collaboration, and experimentation while supporting music education, STEAM learning, coding connections, and creative expression across grade levels and subject areas.

In the Classroom
Have students use Song Maker to compose a short melody that represents the mood or theme of a story, poem, or historical event studied in class. Students can explain how tempo, rhythm, and pitch connect to the topic. Students can use Chrome Music Lab creations to enhance multimedia presentations and cross-curricular STEAM activities. Its online tools allow users to personalize many visuals by changing text, colors, images, and other design elements. PresenterMedia also includes an AI Presentation Maker that can generate a slide deck from a topic, including an outline, slide layouts, text, and suggested images. Teachers can use the site to add visual interest to lessons, create classroom materials, or model effective presentation design, while students can use downloaded resources in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote, and other projects.
