In the Classroom
Guide students in making paper spinners to explore how shape and size affect flight. Have students test different designs and record which spinner falls the slowest or spins the longest. Tie this into Earhart's role as a pilot and the science behind aircraft movement. Set up a simple experiment where students compare mass and weight using scales and small objects. Connect the concept to Earhart's long-distance flights and the importance of fuel and weight in aircraft design. Using rubber bands, cardboard, and paper, have students design and test their own paper plane launchers.
