This fabulous collection of lesson plans, activities, and web links from NCTM is a professional treasury for math teachers. The two menu selections at the top, Lessons and Interactives, are actually drop down menus to find lessons by grade levels, Brain Teasers, Mobile Apps, a Web Sketchpad, and more. The interactives are a challenging practice for concepts ranging from basic fractions and graphing to congruence theorems. Narrow your search with keywords. Each activity includes a description and grade level recommendation. Highlighted activities and Lessons on the home page change often. Many lesson plans also include technology links, but others are low-tech or no-tech. Illuminations is created by NCTM.

Keep this one in your professional favorites to find supporting technology for any math concept. As you find practice or extension ideas for student use or at home reinforcement, share specific links on your class web page or classroom computer center for students to access independently or as you assign them for needed practice. The full site is overwhelming for most parents, so share the specific areas that fit your curriculum.

Efficient organization provides an easy interface. Customize the design with the many available features after selecting your graph. Insert your data into the boxes provided and customize your labels. Preview your graph and go back to make changes. View your data in all five graph options to provide the best visual representation of your information. Tabs to provide help and examples for each menu item while creating your graph provide a great resource. Print your graph, download it in six different formats, or share it with a link sent to an email address. This tool tops the charts. Email not required, but needed to receive the URL for your graph if you select that option.

Discuss how advertisers use graphs to influence consumers. Students can collect their own data to graph. Post graphs for students to view and analyze. Have cooperative learning groups write questions for peers to analyze their graph. Graph results from science experiments or student polls in any subject area. Create simple graphs for even the youngest students to practice reading data.
