The MBGnet Freshwater Biomes website provides an overview of freshwater ecosystems, including lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, and wetlands. Through student-friendly text, illustrations, and interactive links, students learn about the characteristics of freshwater habitats, the plants and animals that live there, food webs, adaptations, biodiversity, and the importance of water resources. The site also explores environmental issues and conservation efforts, helping students understand how freshwater ecosystems support life and why they need protection. This resource is valuable for teaching ecology, life science, environmental science, and habitats in upper-elementary and middle-school classrooms. This site is one of the web resources for the TeachersFirst interactive Biomes of the World Unit.
